Charity: Hello, Grandma and Grandpa. Come in and sit down.

Grandma: No need to be so formal with us, young missy.

Grandpa: That's right. We may be older than you, but you wrote us. We're the ones that ought to be respecting you.

Charity: All the same-

Grandma: And don't go thinking we're that old, either. Honey, how old are we now?

Grandpa: I forget.

Grandma: Well, either way, we certainly don't feel old, so don't go about fussing over us or helping us into chairs and the like. Just treat us as any of the other characters.

Grandpa: That's right.

Charity: Well, that's-

Grandma: I remember it was a long time ago when Anna's father was still living at home. He and Anna's mother had been good friends since they were... what was it dear?”

Grandpa: I don't remember.

Grandma: Well, they were really little. Anyway, they always loved to go exploring in that little forest together. One day that little girl came back carrying a monkey and her mother just had a fit! I told her that we would keep it for her so she could see it whenever she came, but her mother just didn't take too kindly to any of that. Anyway, so we were keeping this monkey in our house and he ran around destroying everything! He tore up the curtains, he knocked over the chairs, he ate half the food in the refrigerator... what else was there, dear?

Grandpa: I forget.

Grandma: Well, it was a lot. So I told my son, I told him, “You better get that monkey trained, or I'm gonna have to put him in a cage!

Charity: I s-

Grandma: And so my son, he just went and he took off with a bunch of our bananas and the monkey and he worked with that little critter all day and all night! Wasn't it all day and all night, honey?

Grandpa: That's right.

Charity: We-

Grandma: And that boy of mine, he came back and the little critter, instead of tearing up the house like he did before, he put on a show! My son would throw him balls and that monkey would catch them and throw them in the air and juggle them, and then he would walk along a tight rope and... what else did he do, dear?

Grandpa: I can't remember.

Grandma: Well, he did a lot. Anyway, so Anna's sweet mother comes to visit and my son shows her the monkey and she grabs that monkey and runs home with it! She shows it to her mother then, who goes and takes that monkey and takes it deep into the forest where no one would ever find it. Poor little girl, she was so sad and wouldn't talk to anyone for a week! So then, when my son decided to propose to her, you wanna know what he did? He went into the that jungle and found that monkey and he gave the monkey the ring and sent the monkey off to Anna's mother. And I tell you, you could have heard that girl's scream of delight from here to kingdom come! Isn't that right, dear?

Grandpa: That's right.

Charity: Well, that's very-

Grandma: Oh, and the wedding was just beautiful! I think the-

Charity: Excuse me, excuse me, but I think we've run out of time.

Grandma: Oh, we have?

Charity: Yes, I believe we have.

Grandma: Oh, dear. I've talked this whole time again, haven't I?

Grandpa: I believe so, dear.

Grandma: We wont take up any more of your time. Let's go, dear.

Charity: Goodbye.

Grandma: Yes, goodbye.

Charity: *shuts door behind them* The question is... where did those stories come from?
